APPLE VALLEY — Facebook fans of the Minnesota Zoo will make the final decision on the name for the zoo’s new dolphin calf.

The public submitted more than 3,000 names online for the dolphin. Marine mammal staff narrowed the choices to three finalists — Taijah (tay-sha), Marais (ma-ray) or Sealie (see-lee).

Those who want to vote on the dolphin’s name must be fans of the Minnesota Zoo on Facebook.

The contest runs through Sunday. The winning name will be announced Monday.

The Atlantic bottlenose calf was born last July to mother Allie and father Semo at the zoo in Apple Valley.
