A Tennessee resident was injured in a crash Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 218 in Mower County.
Lana Ykema, 36 of Lobelville, Tennessee, was driving north in a 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora on Highway 218 around 7:51 a.m. when the left front of the Aurora sideswiped the left rear of a southbound semi driven by Richard Hurt, 69, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.
The State Patrol previously listed the crash as a head-on collision.
Hurt was not injured, but Ykema sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening, the report stated. She was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.
The report listed road conditions as dry, but there were patchy spots of ice on parts of Highway 218 this morning.
No alcohol was detected in either driver’s system, according to the report.
Ykema’s Aurora sustained severe damage and was towed by Midtown Towing. The semi sustained moderate damage and was towed by Big Tow Towing.
