The Austin girls basketball team came from a 16 day break with a strong performance as it beat Mankato East 60-52 in Ove Berven Gym Tuesday.

The Packers (2-7 overall, 2-5 Big Nine) finished the game on a 15-4 run in the last eight minutes to pull away. Austin had just 11 turnovers in the win.

“Defensively we played really well. It was a great effort by the kids,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said. “Everybody that played, played well and hopefully we can keep this going.”
