Football: Grand Meadow rides 34-point first quarter to win against Alden Conger

The No. 1 seeded Grand Meadow football team opened in dominant fashion as it scored 34 points in the first quarter and went on to beat No. 8 Alden-Conger (1-8 overall) 40-14 in GM in the Section 1 nine man football tournament Wednesday.

Brenn Olson ran the opening kick-off 73 yards for a score and Terrell Rieken picked off a pass and ran it back for a score. GM led 34-0 after the smoke cleared and GM was able to rest its starters the rest of the way.

The Superlarks (9-0 overall) will host No.4 Houston in a section semifinal game 7 p.m. Tuesday.
