Body found in Cedar River; Police believe they’ve ID’d male victim

A body was found in the Cedar River Sunday, and authorities have preliminarily identified the victim.
Deputies received a call at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday to a report of a body found in the Cedar River, according to Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi. The body was submerged in the river off of Minnesota State Highway 105 South.
The body has been identified as a male between the ages of 20 to 35. It appeared to have been in the river for about one or two days.
Authorities have preliminarily identified the man but have not released any identification. An autopsy was performed Monday morning.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension assisted on scene.
Amazi said more information should be released soon.
