Hormel Foods Corp. representatives and sources confirmed the meat-packing company’s plant employees approved a new four-year contract on Tuesday.

“Hormel Foods is pleased to have reached an agreement with our employees on a new four-year contract,” Larry C. Lyons, senior vice president of human resources at Hormel Foods, said in a press release. “We are appreciative of the hard work by both bargaining teams to reach this mutually agreeable contract.”

The deal comes after workers voted down prior versions of the contract at least twice. Both sides have remained tight-lipped regarding specific terms of the negotiations during the negotiations. However, some sticking points to the initial contacts included proposed scheduling changes, higher insurance deductibles and a near-site health clinic, along with other healthcare changes
