The Hayfield girls basketball team lost to Goodhue (3-0 overall, 1-0 HVL), which is ranked No. 6 in Class A, 47-45 in Hayfield Friday.

The Vikings (2-2 overall) committed 29 turnovers as they trailed for much of the night.

“We made a nice little run on them at the end to have a shot at it, but we turned the ball over right and left,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said. “We were lucky to be in the game and it’s a troubling situation. The only good part about it is it’s early in the year and we have time to get better.”
