People can expect a wintry mix to develop around the start of the advisory period and then diminish later in the day.

Total snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible, with a light coating of ice expected across southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

The heaviest snowfall rates will occur in western Minnesota between 6 a.m. and noon.

The Chanhassen bureau of the Weather Service advised people to plan on slippery road conditions. Periods of snow and freezing drizzle may cause travel difficulties.

People should be prepared for limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
