The Hayfield baseball team beat Lewiston-Altura (1-1 overall) 6-2 in a rematch of last year’s Section 1A title game in Hayfield Friday.

The Vikings (3-2 overall) trailed 1-0 early and they scored four runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead for good. Adam Fjerstad picked up the win for Hayfield as he scattered 10 hits over seven innings.

“It was just a big game and the guys were up,” Hayfield head coach Kasey Krekling said. “It was a good win for us early in the year.”
