LEROY — A rural LeRoy body shop and its contents were destroyed by fire late Tuesday.
According to LeRoy Fire Chief Tim Freerksen, Bob’s Body Business, owned by Bob Mossyge, was fully engulfed when the department was called at 11 p.m.
The shop was located about 8 miles northwest of LeRoy on 140th Avenue, on the same property as Mossyge’s home. The house was not threatened by the flames, Freerksen said. There was no report of injuries.
Lost in the blaze were two vehicles, paint and other equipment, Freerksen said.
The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s office was scheduled to be on the scene to investigate the cause Wednesday.
About 20 LeRoy firefighters were on the scene until 2 a.m. Wednesday. The Adams Volunteer Fire Department helped haul water to the scene, Freerksen said.
Freerksen did not have any estimate of loss.
