Search of Austin home results in forgery charges

Published Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Two Austin men face felony forgery charges and others could be charged following a Wednesday search of an Austin home.

Lazaro Aguilar-Mateo, 24, and Pedro Rodriguez-Waldo, 18, who live in the same southwest Austin home, appeared in Mower County court Friday on two counts each of aggravated forgery.

Aguilar-Mateo was arrested Sept. 28 while driving Leida Sebastian-Matacua, 22, and Juan Carlos Rubio, 29, who were being investigated in a separate forgery case and have since plead guilty.

Aguilar-Mateo gave officers an ID in the name of “Heriberto Torres Astacio.” Officers also found documents in the car belonging to Aguilar-Mateo’s wife, 20.

On Wednesday, a search was executed at Aguilar-Mateo’s home. He was first confronted in his car, and he identified himself as “Astacio” to the detective. When told he knew his real name, Aguilar-Mateo “grudgingly” admitted to using an alias, according to a criminal complaint.

The search continued into his home, where a number of people were found, some of whom were linked to fraudulent documents in the house.

That includes Aguilar-Mateo’s wife and a man who said he was her father. Neither had been charged as of Monday in Mower County.

Some of the documents belonged to “Israel Rodriguez,” which police determined was Rodriguez-Waldo’s alias.

Rodriguez-Waldo was later interviewed at his place of employment, Quality Pork Processors, and he admitted to using the alias. He was then taken into custody.

A number of fraudulent work documents from Northwood Foods, Inc., Select Foods in Albert Lea and Farmland Foods that were linked to Aguilar-Mateo were found as well.

The complaint states that he used multiple aliases.

Also found at the home was a Social Security card belonging to “Joshua Horacio Franco,” an alias that has been linked to Alejandro Gonzalez-Hernandez, 27.

During the search, authorities learned that Gonzalez-Hernandez had been having sex with a 14-year-old girl who also lived in the home, according to a criminal complaint.

The girl told authorities that Gonzalez-Hernandez is her boyfriend and that the two had been having sex for the past month.

Gonzalez-Hernandez was charged Friday with five counts of felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is scheduled for arraignment Oct. 22.

Aguilar-Mateo and Rodriguez-Waldo are also scheduled to appear again in court Oct. 22.

What is wrong with ICE? They should have raided QPP long ago. When will QPP begin requiring a high school diploma as a qualification for hiring? That will stop this madness, but do they really want to stop hiring illegals? QPP says they do, but they won't take the necessary steps to end hiring illegals. The CEO ought to be ashamed to show his face in Austin.

Our current sheriff was asked why we cannot have at least one officer trained and in constant touch with the ICE--her reply we do not have enough money to do that--well, how about cutting about 5 million from the new jail and getting an officer. I suppose the citizens could start having bake sales to help pay for something that we desperately NEED!!!!!
