Blooming Prairie runner outpaces Lyle/Pacelli pack

The Blooming Prairie Blossoms led by Anthony Nelson out-raced Lyle/Pacelli in the boys 5,000 meters at the NRHEG cross country meet.

The Blooming Prairie Blossoms led by Anthony Nelson out-raced Lyle/Pacelli in the boys 5,000 meters at the NRHEG cross country meet. In the girls meet, it was J-W-P winning it all.
Blooming Prairie scored a race low 41 points. Lyle/Pacelli was eight points back at 49. Maple River was third with 84 points, Madelia/Truman fourth with 102 and the host last with 132.
Winner Nelson ran the course in a time of 15 minutes, 29 seconds. The five Lyle/Pacelli runners finished fifth, sixth, seventh, 10th, and 21st. They were Andy Boisjolie 16:24, Tom Roberts 16:33, TJ Parlin 16:50, Jason Emiliusen 17:11, and Seth Pfeil 18:15.
"It was a beautiful day to run," coach Jim Parlin said. "The boys were very competitive and did well today. Ben Anderson was unable to run. He is out with a hip injury as is Kari Leif on the girls team."
Mary McKee was the only female runner for Lyle/Pacelli who competed in the girls 4,000-meter varsity run. She came in 17th with a time of 19:04. J-W-P’s Lindsay Wolfe broke the tape first with a time of 16:24. Her team scored 55 points, Madelia/Truman was next with 59, Blooming Prairie was third with 90 points, Maple River next with 92, Montgomery/Lonsdale seven points further back and NRHEG bringing up the rear with 119 points.
Eighth-grader Kate Boisjolie was the top runner in the Junior Varsity meet with a time of 14:41 in the 3200 meters.
In the boys junior high meet, Shawn Pfeil finished third in the mile with a time of 6:09.
