Homecoming fun and excitement fills the hallways this week at Pacelli High School at Austin and Lyle High School in Lyle.

It’s homecoming and the combined schools’ varsity football program has a host of events scheduled to enliven school spirit at both schools.

The 1999 candidates for Pacelli High School homecoming king and queen include seniors Tom Roberts, Josh Dale, Jason Emilinsen, John Judd, Seth Pfeil, Jennifer Boisjolie, Melissa Kuttner, Tammy May, Melissa Ehret and Jennifer Heiny.

At Pacelli High School in Austin, the week’s schedule of homecoming activities begins Monday with Class Color Day. There will be a pep fest with introduction of the 1999 homecoming royalty at 12:15 p.m. in the Shamrocks gymnasium.

That afternoon, students, faculty and friends will be watching the L-P girls tennis team play Faribault Shattuck.

On Tuesday, Decade Day will be celebrated. The girls tennis team plays Rochester Lourdes and the volleyball team plays Grand Meadow Monday.

Dress in the Dark Day is scheduled Wednesday, when coronation of the 1999 homecoming queen and king is scheduled at 7 p.m. in the PHS auditorium.

A sock hop follows coronation until 10:30 p.m. Monday in the PHS gymnasium.

Camouflage Day is Thursday, when the L-P volleyball team plays Southland netters and a bonfire pep rally will be held beginning at 7 p.m. at the PHS corn maze.

Then, School Spirit and Green and White Day will be held Friday.

An Austin Area Catholic Schools Mass will be held for all at 9:30 a.m. in St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Students will enjoy a "tailgating-style" mid-day lunch plus class competitions for fun beginning at 11:30 a.m. at South Grove Park

A homecoming pep fest will kick off at 1 p.m. in the Lyle High School gymnasium followed by a homecoming parade through Lyle at 2 p.m.
