It was not basically better TV.
Bresnan Cable Television subscribers lost the signal for the Fox Network’s programming at the worst of times Sunday.
The signal interruption occurred in the overtime of the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears football game.
Football fans were left wondering what happened as their screens went blank.
It was not a temporary interruption
The signal interruption continued throughout the afternoon eliminating the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys football game and into the evening spoiling viewing fans of the Fox Network’s popular The X-Files show and other programming.
It is continuing today.
According to a Bresnan spokesman at the Austin offices of the cable television provider, a piece of equipment failed on a transmitter, knocking out the Fox Network signal to area subscribers.
The piece of equipment was expected sometime today, but as of press-time, the exact time Fox Network fans could expect their favorite cable network’s signal to resume was unknown.
The cable television provider had no information at press-time if the popular Sunday programs would be rescheduled at a later time or if the licensed franchise-holder would make any other accommodation to viewers who lost the for-pay service.
