One of the best ways to encourage community involvement is to create opportunities for youth to participate. Not only will youth learn about how community organizations operate, but Austin will gain potential leaders when the youths become adults.

The schools could include it as coursework and the city could provide the opportunities.

With the cooperation of parents, teachers, school district officials and city officials, a priority could be put on youth involvement in the community. Such involvement is worthy of high priority.
