A public hearing will be held Wednesday evening on the proposed Lansing Township water and sewer project.
The hearing begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the public meeting room at the Mower County Senior Citizens Center in Austin.
On Feb. 23, Lansing Township voters will go to the polls in the village of Lansing’s township hall to vote on the issue.
The Lansing Township improvement project will connect residents of five separate geographic areas in the township to a water and sanitary sewer system.
The areas include the village of Lansing, St. Michael’s residential subdivision, North Star Addition, Cedar Dale Addition and Ramsey Park Addition.
Residents will learn the details of the proposed improvements that will upgrade their individual water wells and septic treatment systems.
Estimated costs for the hookups are $8,600, according to Harold Boverhuis, a Lansing Township Board supervisor who is coordinating the improvement project for the township board.
