Lyle’s annual 8-ball tournament is this weekend, beginning Saturday at 10 a.m.
There was so much interest in the pool tournament that the two-person team entries had to be raised from 32 to 40.
The tournament was renamed this year. It is now titled the Stuart Skov 8-ball Tournament.
The name change was done to honor Skov, who passed away just months after winning last year’s tournament.
Skov was a well-liked Lyle bachelor who won the pool tournament a number of times.
Tournament games will played at the Lyle Legion and The South End Bar and Grill.
Play runs until 11 p.m. Saturday, before resuming at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
