An Austin juvenile accidentally shot a friend three times with a BB pistol Tuesday afternoon.

According to an Austin Police Department report, both juveniles thought the gun was empty of BBs, when the shooting occurred at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim, age 14, was shot at close range above the right eye, on the chin and shoulder.

He had asked the shooter, age 12, to fire the pistol at his face "so he could feel the force of air from a new carbon dioxide tube put in the gun.

The victim was treated at Austin Medical Center-Mayo Health System’s emergency room and released.

No charges were filed.

Minors charged

Austin Police Department officers were called to a Bremerton Apartments unit Tuesday.

Five juveniles were taken into custody and charged with minor consuming violations after a party where alcohol was served was broken up at the west Austin apartment complex.
