Jason Feldman joined the Austin Daily Herald staff Monday as sports editor.

Feldman, 25, is a native of Grand Forks, N.D. He is a 1999 graduate of the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, with degrees in communication and criminal justice studies.

Feldman comes to the Herald from the Grand Forks Herald, where he worked for a year as a sports reporter and copy editor.

"I’m excited about Jason joining our staff," Managing Editor Chuck Gysi said. "He brings a background not only in sports reporting, but also sports editing, which will strengthen the Herald’s staff in covering Austin and Mower County.

"The Herald recognizes the importance of sports coverage in its news pages, especially surrounding towns where sports plays a very important role in the communities. Jason is dedicated to seeing that we cover not only Austin and Pacelli sports, but also the teams of surrounding high schools. We’re glad to have Jason join our staff."
