No injuries reported following Brownsdale fire

A fire Thursday afternoon in a Brownsdale garage didn’t hurt any people, but it destroyed a 1974 Calumet motorhome parked inside as well as the garage.
Property owner Kenneth Wytaske said no one was home at the time of the fire, but he noticed afterwards that a box of matches was missing from his garage, according to a report given by Sheriff Barry Simonson. Also damaged were three vehicles parked near the garage: a Ford Explorer, Pontiac 6000 and a Chevy Corsica.
Damages were estimated at $30,000. A state fire marshall is trying to determine the cause of the fire.
Tractor hit and run
A car belonging to Rita Boyenga was hit by a tractor while she was parked on the shoulder of the road visiting a garage sale. The tractor, which has eluded capture so far, was last seen headed eastbound on 29th Avenue SE, Austin Township.
Trailer stolen
Mid-America Express, 709 11th St. NE, has reported a semi tractor trailer missing.
According to an Austin Police Department report, the firm believes a disgruntled driver may have taken the trailer valued at $15,000.
The theft was reported 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the report.
