WASECA - Austin’s wrestling team traveled to Waseca Tuesday night for a quadrangular meet and came away with two victories and one loss.

WASECA - Austin’s wrestling team traveled to Waseca Tuesday night for a quadrangular meet and came away with two victories and one loss.
The Packers defeated Mankato East, 36-32 and Prior Lake, 44-27 before falling to Waseca, 57-10.
The win over Mankato East was the Packers’ ninth consecutive over their Big Nine Conference rival.
Kyle Granahan started things out right for the Packers with his first varsity victory with a pin of East’s Tyler Nelson in 3:17 at 103 pounds. Spencer Wolner celebrated his return to the Packers’ lineup with a technical fall win at 125. Wolner had been out since December after an appendectomy. Other winners for the Packers in the East match included: T.J. Parlin (119); Matt Adwell (140); Drew Oesterle (145); and Todd Krupicka with a pin at 275.
In the match versus Prior Lake it was Parlin and Wolner who got the Packers going. Parlin scored a technical fall at 119 and Wolner scored a pin in just 20 seconds at 125. Also winning for the Packers were: Granahan (103) , by forfeit; Josh Kestner (130), by forfeit; Josh Solberg (135) by forfeit; Adwell (140), by forfeit; Jeff Cochran (171) with a decision; and Krupicka with another pin at 275.
In the match against Waseca injuries finally took a toll as the Packers forfeited five of the matches. Parlin continued his strong wrestling with a pin at 119 and Adwell added a major decision victory at 140 pounds.
The Austin wrestlers are in action tonight when they play host to Grand Meadow-LeRoy-Ostrander at 6 p.m. at the high school.
