The Southland Rebels boys basketball played tough defense on the road and, with four players in double figures, coasted to a 61-34 win over Glenville-Emmons.

"The difference was we shot 48 percent, 25-52, from the field while Glenville-Emmons shot 31 percent, 15-48," said head coach Greg Storey. "We just shot the ball real good. We had good patience on offense and passed the ball and got the open shot."

After a feeling-out period in the first quarter, the Rebels went on a 17 to 4 tear in the second quarter and took a 29-17 lead at halftime. The Southland advantage held up after three quarters, 43-28.

The Rebels are 5-1 in the conference and 8-5 overall.

"Defensively, we played very good, contesting a lot of Glenville-Emmons’ shots," Storey said, holding G-E to 3 of 18 beyond the arc.

Jason Boe led the Rebels in scoring with 14 points with Todd Osmundson and Caleb Stroup adding 13 each and Pat Snyder chipping in with 10.
