Didn’t get your monthly bill from Austin Utilities yet? Don’t worry – you will.
Because of work on the installation of a new computer system in January, bills are being delayed slightly in being mailed out. Bills should have been received by customers on Thursday, the first of the month.
Residents in the southwest and northwest sections of the city should expect to receive their bills today, a day late.
Residents of the northeast and southeast sections of the city and rural areas can expect to receive their bills on Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
While payment on bills is due 10 days after being received, Austin Utilities will not assess penalties during February because of the lateness of the statements. In addition, the utility is aware some customers’ gas bills are high for heating this time of year.
Bills for commercial accounts are being checked for accuracy before they are mailed, a news release from the utility indicated.
The new computer system that is being installed is expected to allow Austin Utilities to become more efficient and be able to handle customers’ needs better.
Customers with questions about their bills or those who need to make arrangements for payment in installments should call 433-8886.
