A 42-year-old Austin man claims he was robbed early today by two women.
According to the victim’s complaint to the Austin Police Department, he met the women at the Margaritaville bar in downtown Austin late Tuesday. They invited him to join them and drove to the Citgo truck stop and restaurant for food.
Then, the women drove the victim to a Sixth Street SE residence. The driver pulled the car over to a curb and a woman in the back seat grabbed the man and placed her arm around his throat.
According to the victim, she threatened him and demanded money. He complied and gave her his wallet.
The victim left the car and the women drove off, leaving him.
The victim said his wallet contained $80, credit cards and identification cards.
He walked to a residence in the 700 block of Ninth Avenue SE and knocked on the door. The residents called police and when officers arrived at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, they found the victim in the front yard and took his story.
The incident is under investigation and no arrests have been made.
