Now, it gets serious.
The update of the Mower County comprehensive plan shifts into high gear Thursday.
That’s when, the comprehensive plan task force will meet with representatives of the Austin, LeRoy, Brownsdale and Adams city planning commissioners as well as Red Rock and Pleasant Valley townships.
Daryl W. Franklin, county planner and zoning administrator, said the task force will be seeking the input from the local units of government and their planning commissions.
Joining the discussion will be Phi Carlson and Colleen Fox of Dahlgren, Shardlow & Uban Inc., the firm retained by the county board to revise the county comprehensive plan.
According to Franklin, Carlson and Fox gleaned recommendations in 13 key topic areas through the early stages of the revision process.
They included both recommended changes and additions to the goals and objectives of the comprehensive plan as well as issues to be addressed outside the comprehensive plan framework.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Thursday in the county commissioners’ meeting room at the government center in Austin.
