Technically, spring begins a week from today.
But from the recent weather, you couldn’t tell the difference.
As a result, we encourage local motorists and residents to still play it safe when getting around the area, until we’re well out of winter’s grasp.
Just last weekend, fierce winds produced whiteout conditions that shut down portions of Interstate 90 and 35. Weather also played a part in Saturday’s 10-car pileup that occurred near Rochester.
It’s easy to assume that we can get from one place to another. But when it doubt, play it safe and stay home.
If you do have to venture out in the elements, make sure you have a few blankets in your vehicle, along with some food and even a jug of water. Having a cellular phone handy wouldn’t hurt, either.
We have a slight suspicion that winter’s wrath isn’t over just yet.
Taking a few minutes out of a busy schedule and preparing yourself in case an accident occurs is worth the time and trouble.
