Area track teams show at Kasson

Lisi Ingvalson led Blooming Prairie and Sarah Thome paced Grand Meadow/LeRoy-Ostrander/Southland, representing area teams at the Kasson-Mantorville Invitational Tuesday in Kasson.
The Blooming Prairie team finished fifth out of nine girls' squads present, totalling 55 points. Ingvalson won the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, was a part of the winning 4×400-relay team, and was second in the 100-hurdles. Ingvalson went to state last season in the 300-hurdles, where she took fifth in Class A.
Leah Heimerman was victorious in the 100-meter dash, winning for Blooming Prairie with a time of 13.7 seconds. Andrea Rumpza also claimed a first-place finish for the Blossoms, clocking in at 1:04.4 in the 400. The 4×400 foursome consisted of Ingvalson, Rumpza, Heimerman and Laura Peterson. Three of their four splits were below 1:06.
The Blossoms' 4×800 relay team took fourth, pairing Ingvalson, Peterson and Rumpza with Whitney Yentsch. The 4×100 took sixth.
Four GMLOS, Thome paced the Bulldogs with a third-place finish in the 800-meter run. Thome also finished sixth in the high jump and was a part of the 4×400 relay team that took fourth. There she teamed with Amanda Landherr, Nickole Stier and Heather Emanuel for a combined time of 4:48.76.
Landherr also cruised into fifth in the 200, and the 4×200 contingent of Emanuel, Stier, Cindy Arndorfer and Katie Bissen was sixth.
