Charlene F. Enerson, 72

Charlene F. Enerson, 72, of Austin, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at Austin Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Bristow, Iowa, to Charles M. and Carma M. (Fahr) Huff. The family moved to Lyle where Char graduated from high school.

After her marriage to Duane Enerson on June 1, 1947, in Lyle, they farmed in the Rose Creek and Lyle area. Char worked at many local grocery stores as a cashier. In 1977, the couple purchased the White Pines Resort in Bemidji which they operated until 1985 when they retired. They moved back to Austin in 1997.

A lifetime member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church, Lyle Auxiliary and Women of the Moose, Char also enjoyed bowling, reading, playing bingo and crafts.

Survivors include husband, Duane Enerson, Austin; daughters, Sherry (Neal) Kenyon, Lyle; Kathy (Dale) Whalen, Rochester; son, Kevin (Jolene) Enerson, Bemidji; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger (Iona) Huff, Helena, Mont.; Ward (Joan) Huff, Caledonia; Oscar (Carol) Huff, Austin; sisters-in-law, Shirley Huff, Kasson; Lois Prihoda, Albert Lea; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wendell Huff; and infant sister, Janet.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2002, at the funeral home and Saturday at the church for one hour before the service.

Service: 11 a.m., Saturday, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle with the Rev. Lydia Mittag officiating.

Interment: Six Mile Grove Cemetery, Lyle.

Funeral Home: Worlein Funeral Home, Austin.

Wilma Anderson, 79

Wilma Anderson, 79, of Los Fresnos, Texas, formerly of Sargeant, died March 8, 2002, at her home.

She was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Scarville, Iowa to Minnie and George Wuerflein.

Following high school, she was employed as a telephone operator.

On Nov. 27, 1941, she married Luverne J. Anderson in Scarville, Iowa.

The couple resided in Conger, Alpha, Sargeant and Esterville, Iowa. While living in Sargeant, Wilma was a member of Evanger Lutheran Church and was employed as a postal clerk. In 1976, the couple moved to Faribault. In 1988, they moved to Los Fresnos, Texas.

Survivors include husband, Luverne Anderson; sons, David (Vicki) Anderson, Port Angelos, Wash.; Warren Anderson (Kathy Smith), Arlington, Texas; daughter, Christine (Steven) Jensen, Austin; six grandchildren; sister, Muriel (Elvin) Wogen, Kiester.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Milford, Marlin and James Wuerflein; sister, Ethel Pries.

Service: A memorial service was held March 11, 2002, at Harlingen, Texas.

Interment: Saturday, April 20, 2002, at Bethal Lutheran Church in Vinji, Iowa.

Marie V. Judd, 101

Marie V. Judd, 101, of Austin, died Monday, April 15, 2002, at Sacred Heart Care Center.

She was born Dec. 19, 1900, in Spillville, Iowa, to Joseph and Barbara (Swartz) Petrick.

She married Leslie E. Judd and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1970. Leslie died on July 31 that same year.

Marie was a homemaker and helped her husband with his businesses. She was a lifelong member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She loved cooking, gardening, music and the news. In 1992 she suffered a stroke and resided at her place on Oakland Avenue until she broke her hip in 1994. Her new home became Sacred Heart Care Center.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Alvira &uot;Judy&uot; and Archie Solyst, Austin; Sharon and Richard Heikkila, Prescott, Wis.; son, O'Dean Judd, Los Almos, N.M.; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son, daughter-in-law and four grandchildren.

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., today, April 19, 2002, with a 4 p.m. CCW rosary and a 6:30 p.m. wake service and also from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Service: 11 a.m., Saturday, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Paul Nelson officiating. Casket bearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Interment: Calvary Cemetery.

Venessa E. Barton, 88

Venessa E. Barton, 88, of Austin, died Tuesday, April, 16, 2002, at her home.

She was born June 15, 1913, in Austin, to Ralph and Elizabeth (Graf) Bloomfield.

On June 12, 1937, she married Merle L. Barton in Minneapolis.

Venessa worked at the George A. Hormel Company for 40 years from 1935 to 1975. She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church and enjoyed watching sports and spending time with her family.

Survivors include daughter, Cathy Snyder, San Antonio, Texas; one granddaughter; sister, Elizabeth Swank, Austin; nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arnold Bloomfield; and husband, Merle.

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2002, with a 5 p.m. CCW rosary and a 6:30 p.m. wake service and also from noon to 1 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Service: 1:30 p.m., Sunday, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Paul Nelson officiating. Casket bearers will be Richard Jahr, Gregory Jahr, James Hebrink, Don Villalta, Jeff Beckel and Keith Unruh.

Interment: Calvary Cemetery.
