Blooming Prairie sweeps Alden-Conger

Both Blooming Prairie hardball squads moved to 7-1 in the Gopher Conference with wins over Alden-Conger Monday night.
The Blossom baseball team upped its overall mark to 10-3 with a 29-2 victory that needed only five innings. BPHS had 22 hits in the run-rule shortended game played in Blooming Prairie. Aaron McDonald was the benefactor of all the run support, throwing three shutout innings for the pitching win. David Kramer surrendered Alden-Conger's two runs in two innings of relief.
Kramer led the offense with a 4-5 plate performance that included a three-run home run in the second inning, four runs scored, a double and four RBIs.
Kraig Olson and Tom Farr each had three hits, while McDonald finished 2-2. Olson scored five runs and drove in two, while Farr came across twice and drove in three more. Both of McDonald's hits were doubles.
The Blossoms host Medford today at 4:30 p.m. in conference play.
BP softball slugs A-C
Abbey Bergstrom pitched seven shutout innings and allowed only one Alden-Conger hit in an 8-0 Gopher Conference victory Monday in Alden.
Bergstrom struck out 14 and walked three in the victory, which moved the team's overall record to 8-4 and 7-1 in the conference. She also had one of Blooming Prairie's four hits and scored a run.
Amanda Herdina led the bats with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Amber Vogt went 1-2 with a run scored.
Blooming Prairie goes to Medford today for a Gopher Conference clash. The Blossoms battered the Tigers 10-0 in their first meeting this season.
