Dexter teenager dies in Sunday accident

A 15-year-old Southland High School sophomore was killed in a one-vehicle accident Sunday morning.
According to a Mower County Sheriff's Department report, Lewis Donald Sorensen, 15 of Dexter, was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident along a gravel road (250th Street) midway between Dexter and Grand Meadow.
The teen-ager was ejected from the pickup truck he was driving. According to sheriff's department report, the truck skidded on the gravel road, went into a ditch and rolled three times before coming to a rest.
The driver was alone in the vehicle.
The teen-ager lived with his grandmother, Charlotte Sorensen of Dexter.
Early Sunday morning, Lewis Sorensen took a relative's pickup truck to Grand Meadow to visit a girlfriend.
Later Sunday morning, the relative found his pickup truck in a farm field. The body of the teen was found lying near the pickup truck.
Sheriff's department officials said the exact time of the accident is unknown.
Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is handling funeral arrangements and services are pending.
