A 46-year-old Austin man was arrested Tuesday for driving a lawn mower while intoxicated.

According to Capt. Curt Rude of the Austin Police Department, the man was found "weaving his lawn mower all over the street and sidewalk, holding a can of beer," in the southeastern part of Austin at about 2:30 p.m.

Police reports say the man smelled strongly of alcohol, was very belligerent to officers and refused to take a sobriety test. He was arrested and taken to the Mower County Jail for driving while intoxicated. His blood-alcohol level was found to be .31, more than three times the legal limit in Minnesota.
