Wayne Dorn, 80
Wayne Dorn, 80, of Hendricks, formerly of Austin, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at the Hendricks Community Hospital.
He was born April 15, 1922, in Shaokatan Township to Albert and Martha (Uppendahl) Dorn. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hendricks, and graduated from Hendricks High School.
In 1941, he entered the U.S. Army Air Corps, and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
He then attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D., where he was a member of the Army R.O.T.C. He became an electrical engineer with Scott Engineering in Watertown, S.D.
On Nov. 27, 1949, he married Florence Kragh in Hendricks.
The couple lived in Watertown until Wayne began working for Northwestern Public Service in Huron, S.D., and later in Aberdeen, S.D. They moved to Albert Lea when he went to work for the Freeborn-Mower R.E.A., and then to Austin with Austin Utilities. When Wayne retired in 1984, the couple moved back to Hendricks.
Wayne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hendricks, where he served in many church offices. He was also a member of the Reuben Hansen American Legion Post #195 of Hendricks, the Austin V.F.W., and the Kiwanis and Lions Clubs. While in Austin he was elected as a commissioner for Austin Utilities, and was Minnesota State Electrical Inspector.
He enjoyed golfing, camping, bowling and playing softball.
Survivors include wife, Florence, Hendricks; sons, Jerald Dorn, Austin; John (Sandra) Dorn, Jacksonville, Fla.; Paul Dorn, Hendricks; six grandchildren; sister, Ella Hinsverk, Williston, N.D.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., today, May 16, 2002, at the funeral home with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service and on Friday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 10 a.m., Friday, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hendricks.
Interment: Hendricks City Cemetery.

Sybilla Susan "Billee" Gideon, 76
Sybilla Susan "Billee" Gideon, 76, of Naples, Fla., died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001.
She was born June 18, 1925, in Austin, to James S. Anderson and Garda (Henriksen) Miller and step-father, Forrest N. Miller.
Survivors include son, Michael (Barbara) Gideon Sr., Naples, Fla.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Garda Nelson, Sarasota, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father.
Services: Were held in Naples, Fla.
Interment: St. Peter the Apostle Church Columbarium.

Olive Vivian Ofstun, 96
Olive Vivian Ofstun, 96, of Eagan, died Monday, May 13, 2002.
She was born July 5, 1905, in Oakland.
She was a retired employee of Butler Manufacturing.
Survivors include sisters, Merle Brodkast, Eagan; Leona Ofstun; Eagan; Marvel Hansen, Minnetonka; a nephew.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Burton and Burnal; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Lillian Ofstun; brother-in-law, Arthur Hansen.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
Service: 2 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2002, at Oakland Lutheran Church in Albert Lea with the Rev. LaDonna Ekern officiating.
Interment: Oakland Lutheran Church Cemetery.
