LeRoy-Ostrander sees 26 graduate

LEROY -- LeRoy – Ostrander High School graduated 26 seniors Sunday, June 2.
Arnold Prince, superintendent, welcomed guests to the 2002 commencement exercises.
Special music was provided by James Horner and Will Jennings with a senior girls ensemble and Mary Lynn Lightfoot and the senior high chorus directed by Matthew Wilmes.
A slide show recaptured memories for the seniors and their families.
Steve Bongers, principal,
introduced commencement speakers, Aubry Jacobsen, valedictorian, and
Erin Dohlman, salutatorian.
The principal presented academic award-recipients and scholarships were announced.
Recipients included:
Lonholt Scholarship, $2,500 divided over four years: Aubry Jacobsen, Erin Dohlman, Amanda Loven.
Otto Scholarship, $2,500 divided over course of study: Ryan King.
Oksanen Scholarship, $2,500 divided over course of study: Sarah Kolden, Bob Theobald.

First State Bank Scholarship, $2,000 : Krystle Boehmer.
Student Council Scholarship, $1,000; Kelsey Rickert Memorial Scholarship, $300: Lacey Speer.
Runnestand Scholarship: $500, Century Alumni Scholarship, $500:
Grant Lunning.
Arlin Falck Scholarship, $500; Tri-County Electric, $150: Emily Huey.
Juletta Northness Wilder Scholarship, $500: William Brandsmeier.
Heathman Memorial Scholarship, $500: Michael Young.
Pangborn Memorial Scholarship, $300 each: Aubry Jacobsen, Erin Dohlman, Amanda Loven.

Keith Anderson presented Athlete of the Year awards to Lacey Speer and Ryan King.
Dave Lunning, member of the LO board of education, presented diplomas.

Twelve members of the senior class of 26 graduates earned academic honors status this year.
The senior class motto is: "If I leave here tomorrow, will you still remember me?"
