Florence Perkins Schmidt, 69

Florence Perkins Schmidt, 69, of Upland, Calif., formerly of Austin, died Nov. 21, 2001, at Specialty Hospital of Southern California.

She was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Tremplo, Wis. to Helen and Bernard Perkins. She attended schools in Chatfield and Austin. While attending school, she worked for the telephone company and later transferred to the telephone company in Minneapolis where she met and married Alfred Schmidt. The couple traveled many places including Florence's favorite, Hawaii.

Survivors include former husband, Alfred Schmidt, Boca Raton, Fla.; daughters, Kimberly (Donald) Glanden, Harrington, Del.; Leesa (Richard) Berry, Powder Springs, Ga.; Chantelle (Steve) Harvey, St. Louis, Mo.; son, Douglas (Joanne) Schmidt, Brea, Calif; five grandchildren; sisters, Marianne De Gorglo, Garden City, Mich.; Mary (Gordon) Lampman, Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; Lois (Marvin) Lovelein, Tucson, Ariz.; brothers, Edwin (Jan) Perkins, Albert Lea; Joseph (Pat) Perkins, Coos Bay, Ore.; David (Marlys) Perkins, Rochester; Paul (Judi) Perkins, Austin; Daniel (Connie) Perkins, Rochester; Timothy (Sue) Perkins, Apple Valley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Bernard Perkins; and brother, Bernard Perkins, Jr.

Service: 1 p.m. graveside memorial service, Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Earl Seeliger, ordained minister, officiating.
