Sunday's schedule doesn't lack diversity either. For instance, there's a new Americans Standing Together march planned Sunday afternoon and a candlelight salute to American heroes tonight at Austin Community Park.

The day begins with the Austin Morning Lions Club fly-in breakfast at Austin Municipal Airport, the conclusion of the Austin Youth International Baseball Tourney, a classic car cruise and some very special events to conclude the day.

Beginning 4 p.m. Sunday, there will be an Americans Standing Together March at 4th Avenue NE and North Main Street.

Participants are encouraged to wear red, white and blue colors and display the American flag as they march to the bandshell in Austin Community Park

Once they arrive at the park, it will be time for another edition of a Taste of Austin food expo as well as an ice cream social and entertainment from Miss Austin of 2002, AnnMarie Wagner, daughter of Meg and Carter Wagner, Austin.

Mayor Bonnie Rietz will welcome all and another salute to American heroes will take place as the crowd settles into their lawn chairs and on blankets n the park's lawn.

Summerset Theatre's "Annie" stars will perform on stage before the Austin Community Band performs in concern.

Concert-goers are asked to bring candles to illuminate in a special tribute to the city's Independence Day parade grand marshals, emergency services workers from all agencies.

Then, it's time to gaze skywards for the giant fireworks display at 9:55 p.m. Sunday.

Freedom Fest in the Heartland schedules of events are available at local merchants.
