An 18-year-old Dexter woman may face charges after hitting a 4-year-old boy with her car.
According to police reports, the suspect said she was driving down Second Avenue SE at about 10 to 15 mph when she heard a thump on the passenger's side door.
She says she then noticed children in the street and stopped the car. She got out and found the injured boy next to her car. She located the child's mother, who she says immediately took the boy to the hospital. The suspect did not give the mother her name or telephone number and did not report the incident to the police.
The boy suffered a fractured leg and a large cut over his right eye.
No charges have been filed.
