Two men were arrested after a shooting incident late Friday evening on East Main Street in LeRoy.
A shotgun blast interrupted this eastern Mower County community at 11:45 p.m. Friday.
When Mower County Sheriff's deputies arrived, they surrounded a residence at 204 E. Main St. and established a perimeter around the area with officers from Grand Meadow, Ostrander, Adams and Brownsdale police departments.
The occupants of the house were ordered at gunpoint to leave the residence with their hands in the air. Two females and three males, all adults,
complied and were interviewed at the scene.
One man, 38, who lives at the residence, was arrested and jailed as the suspected shooter. Another man was detained on warrants from Houston and Olmsted
counties.
According to Chief Deputy Terese Amazi, George Arthur Dowdell, 39 of LeRoy, claimed he was the subject of unprovoked profanities, racial taunts and a shotgun blast fired at him outside the residence. Dowdell was uninjured.
The occupants of the house were all described as intoxicated by the Mower County Sheriff's Department report.
A shotgun believed to have been used in the shooting incident and a shell casing were seized as evidence.
