District made the right move

It's a problem that just can't wait.
Not just for the safety of the school building, but also the health of its students.
Austin Public School officials are doing the right thing by fixing the problem.
School officials said carpeting that was cleaned in a specific part of Banfield was cleaned in June. Unfortunately, humid conditions caused the mold to grow in the damp carpet.
Ideally, we'd like to see the school district find out how this problem occurred and what recourse will be taken. The school has relocated the classrooms in the affected area and the carpeting will be removed and tile will be laid by the end of the week.
Still, that will cost money to an already cash-strapped district.
But more importantly, the health and safety of the students and faculty at Banfield is what's at stake.
It's good to see that district officials took a proactive approach to getting this problem solved. It may be a minor inconvenience to those at Banfield, but those who attend the school will be better served in the long run.
