Dustin Thorson returned two punts for touchdowns and scored another on a 63-yard pass play as the No. 1 ranked LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals clobbered Alden-Conger, 70-18, on homecoming night Friday in LeRoy.
Thorson's punt returns went 44 and 30 yards, and Ben Adams' 10-yard touchdown run sandwiched in between boosted the Cardinals to a 21-0 lead five minutes into the 9-man Southern Confederacy Conference contest.
LeRoy-Ostrander (6-0, 5-0) scored 35 points in the first period as Adams added a 14-yard touchdown run and Eric Nelson returned an interception 38 yards to paydirt.
Nelson also rushed for a touchdown after Thorson hauled in a 63-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Rowe.
Mitch Lunning made a seven-yard touchdown catch from backup quarterback Kirk Olson, and Andrew Knight recovered a blocked punt for a 56-6 Cardinal lead midway through the third quarter.
Brett Mensink carried five yards for L-O's final touchdown.
The Cardinals go to GHECML next Friday before hosting Nicollet in a much-anticipated 9-man clash between rated teams the final game.
