Unfortunately, the store's video surveillance camera was not working at the time of the thefts.

Guns retrieved

GRAND MEADOW -- Jerome Berge has retrieved weapons and other items stolen from his residence.

According to Grand Meadow Police Department and Mower County Sheriff's Department reports, Berge reported the thefts from his residence in the last couple of weeks.

Two neighbors supplied Berge and authorities with the name of a possible suspect as well as one of the stolen weapons.

When police and deputies investigated the suspects home, they discovered evidence in the possession of a male juvenile.

The items were returned to Berge and the case forwarded to the Mower County Attorney for prosecution.

Storage sheds entered

Austin RV and Mini Storage was burglarized recently.

According to a Mower County Sheriff's Department report, manager Herb Eastman discovered 10 padlocks cut on storage sheds at the U.S. Highway 219 South business.

An early inventory of the sheds remains the contents intact. One of the storage shed renters believes it could be the work of her ex-husband, seeking items she has stored at the facility.

The case remains under investigation.

Burglaries linked

RACINE — Two burglaries at Racine may be linked.

Eastwood Auto and the Racine United Methodist Church were burglarized sometime overnight Friday.

According to the Mower County Sheriff's Department, authorities believe the burglaries are linked because of the similar methods used to enter the church and business as well as the same time frame they occurred.
