Mary Jane Wesely, 81
Mary Jane Wesely, 81, of Owatonna, died Dec. 24, 2002, at her home after a long battle with cancer.
She was born Dec. 15, 1921, to Fred and Margaret (Pichner) Wavrin in rural Owatonna. She attended high school in Owatonna.
On May 9, 1946, she married Jerome A. Wesely at Sacred Heart Church in Owatonna. They raised four children.
Mary Jane was a homemaker most of her life. Some of the various jobs she had were at Mary Grass Boarding House, Spergeons, Woolworth's, Phiels Department Store, and the American Agriculture Administration in Owatonna.
She was a member of Women's Catholic Guild, Faribault Eagles, Telephone Pioneers, and past member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Her hobbies included rose gardening, caring for her houseplants and flowers, traveling, sightseeing, and cooking Bohemian dishes. She also enjoyed her family, animals, listening to old time and big band music and dancing.
Survivors include husband, Jerry; sons, Charles (Eunice) Wesely, Austin; Allan (Nancy) Wesely, Austin; daughters, Patricia (Kenneth) Thiele, Mankato; Elaine Wesely, Albert Lea; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Christine) Wavrin, Owatonna; Lowell (Marie) Wavrin, Owatonna; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, with a 4 pm. Parish Rosary at the funeral home and 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Interment: Bohemian National Cemetery, Owatonna.
Funeral Home: Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna.
