DECA benefits students

Students in a program offered at Austin High School are finding out that learning and service go hand-in-hand.
Austin High School students involved in the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) project are learning more about a field in business they might want to pursue as adults.
At the same time, they're committing themselves to a cause in their community.
Students in a marketing class at AHS are helping the Red Cross with a hygiene program for elementary-age children, while trying to find a sponsor for that cause.
The students also write up a project that can be submitted in a DECA competition.
The DECA program encourages students to develop skills that may further a career and help their community.
We encourage those students to do their best and for the high school to keep this program going.
It helps foster a positive link between business and service, which builds a stronger community.
