Tracey Lee Hensley
Funeral services for Tracey Lee Hensley, of Harrisonburg, Va., formerly of Austin, were held Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Staunton, Va.
Miss Hensley died of cancer on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at a Harrisonburg hospital.
Tracey Lee Hensley was born on April 5, 1966, in Staunton, Va. and moved with her family to Austin, Minn. shortly after. She grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1984. During her years in Austin, she was an active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
She attended Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., and Eastern Mennonite University at Harrisonburg, where she graduated in 1989.
Tracey was a gifted singer and was a member of several choirs in both Minnesota and Virginia.
Surviving are her father, Gary (Brenda) Hensley of Staunton, Va.; mother, Carol L. Hensley of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Alexis Hensley of San Diego, Calif.; stepsister, Angela Rodriguez; stepbrother, Tim Kipps; and grandmother, Lavon Linhoss, all of Staunton, Va.; aunts and uncles, Linda (Joe) Harter of Staunton, Va.; William (Debbie) Nelson of Beloit, Wis.; Richard (Shirley) Nelson of Austin; Gary (Lucille) Nelson of Austin; David (Sheryl) Nelson of Rochester; special cousin, Tim Miller of Austin; and other cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and an aunt.
Tracey loved her friends and relatives and was loved by all who knew her.
Memorials are suggested to St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Austin, or the Eagles Cancer Telethon.
Hilma A. Youngdahl, 92
Hilma A. Youngdahl, 92, of Austin died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Austin Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 25, 1910, in Vernon Township, Dodge County, Minn., to Torgrim Torgrimson and Hannah (Bergum) Mohn. She was baptized and confirmed in Norwegian at West St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
She played piano by ear. She attended rural schools and graduated from Hayfield High School. She moved to Austin in the early 1930s and married Einar A. Youngdahl Nov. 11, 1934, in Osage, Iowa. Einar died
Feb. 18, 1939, and Hilma went to work at Hormel Foods Corp., retiring after 37 years. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday School, belonged to Fifty-Plus and circles. She enjoyed gardening, the ocean and mountains. She also enjoyed travel and visiting with family.
Survivors include: son, Duane (Beata) Youngdahl, Greensboro, N.C.; daughter, Joan (David) Olson, Sparta, Wis.; sisters, Luella Mohn, Austin; Esther (Milton) Eggert, Austin; Fern Borge, Omaha, Neb.; brothers, Harry (Ruth) Mohn, Vernon Township; Truman (JoAnn) Mohn, Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Joyce Nelson; an infant grandson; brothers, Alfred, Thomas, Elmer, Ferdy, Palmer, infant Harry; sisters, Geolina, Minnie, Martha, Gena, Josie.
Visitation: Monday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Roberta Flood officiating.
Interment: West St. Olaf Cemetery, east of Hayfield.
