Austin High School senior Beau Webber broke the Packer Invite and school record with a diving total of 432.55 in helping the host Packers to second place Saturday at Ellis Middle School.
Webber was the former record-holder, setting the mark of 407.80 last season. The pool record is 515.63, held by a Rochester Mayo diver.
Webber also set the six-dive school record in the Packers' season-opening dual at Faribault.
Austin's second-place finish was on the heels of rival Albert Lea. The Tigers had at least one competitor in the top three in 10 of 12 events in winning the team title.
The Packers' 200-yard freestyle relay team was the only other Austin finishers inside the top three. Derek Hall took fourth in the 50 freestyle, and the 200 medley relay was also fourth.
The 400 freestyle relay team took 28 points for fifth place in the final event. Ryan O'Leary was fifth in the diving competition, while Erik Sherman placed seventh in the 100 butterfly and Ethan Simonson was seventh in the 100 freestyle.
A complete recap of the results of Saturday's invitational will be in Monday's edition of the Herald.
