Fillmore Central jumped out to a big lead Tuesday night and Grand Meadow was unable to overcome this early deficit, falling 50-39 in their final game of the season.

"That first quarter really killed us,"said Grand Meadow head coach Mike Norton. His squad made a bit of a run in the second quarter, but it was not enough to threaten the Falcons in the Section 1A East Sub-Section contest.

Fillmore Central was paced by 15 points from Heidi Harstad, who buried three treys in the first four minutes of the game.

Grand Meadow dropped to a final mark of 6-16, despite the best efforts of Kelli Petzel, who scored 17.

"We started out 1-9," said Norton, "so we definitely improved over the scond half of the season. We're only losing two seniors, so we should be even better next season."
