Blossom baseball starts with non-conference win

Steve Seykora struck out seven in five innings and allowed only one hit as the Blooming Prairie baseball team topped Glenville-Emmons, 6-2, in both teams' season-opener Tuesday night in Blooming Prairie.
Kraig Olson struck out five in two innings of hitless relief for the save and also scored two runs for the Blossoms. BPHS had just four hits but benefitted from a handful of Wolverine errors.
Lynn Chheang, David Kramer, Andy Helkenn and Brayton Johnson all had hits for BP. Kramer, Helkenn, Johnson and Tom Farr accounted for the RBIs.
The Blossoms host Triton on Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Blooming Prairie.
