New and prospective residents to the Austin area will again see the area is truly "Someplace Special."
The latter is the name of the Austin Area Chamber of Commerce's community profile magazine that was released today.
Sandy Forstner, the chamber's executive director, said the second edition of the magazine is 36 pages, up from 32, and has twice as many photos as the first edition.
The magazines will be available free to chamber members to give to prospective employees. Issues will also be available at the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Welcome Center and at the chamber.
"We started working on this particular magazine a year ago," said Jerry Wolesky, chair of the chamber's community receptionist committee. "There's more pictures and more people. This is the area we really stressed.
"We really do have a wonderful community here in Austin. We do have a lot to offer."
Forstner said there are eight separate sections in the magazine that are highlighted including education, health, retail, business and industry, recreation, residential, government and arts and entertainment.
The three-year supply of magazines was printed by Smyth Companies of Austin.
"We're very pleased with the overall project," Forstner said.
