An 18-year-old Austin man is in custody and faces first degree burglary charges.
Austin police responded to an alarm at the New Life Fellowship Center, 210 Fourth St. NE early Wednesday.
According to an Austin Police Department report, when officers arrived they discovered an east door's window broken.
A perimeter was established around the former Terp Ballroom and officers went inside, where they encountered the suspect carrying a television set.
He was ordered to set the television on the floor and taken into custody.
Canine units searched the building and did not find any other suspects.
According to the police report, the suspect had no accomplice in the television heist.
Only the burglary charge is expected to be filed although the suspect carried with him a double-edge, fixed-blade knife with a 4-inch blade and was described as belligerent when taken into custody, according to police.
