Although the Austin tennis team finally got their first win of the season last week, they couldn't carry over that success into Tuesday's match with Mankato West, as the host Scarlets dealt them a 5-2 defeat.
No. 3 Dolan Wagner posted a decisive victory over Sam McCullough in the lone bright spot of Packer singles play.
The Packers fared better in doubles, forcing two three-setters. The No. 2 pairing of Jack Lynch and Luke Green won their match in a third set tiebreaker, while Tyler Conway and Kyler Green came up short after forcing a decisive set in the third doubles slot.
The Packers are now 1-7 in the Big 9 and 1-9 overall. They have their last regular season match of the year Thursday at Paulson Courts against conference rival John Marshall.
