Edna A. Grunklee, 102
Edna A. Grunklee, 102, of Blooming Prairie, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home, Blooming Prairie.
She was born Feb. 18, 1901, to Albert and Anna (Kruckeberg) Hargefeld in Havana Township. She attended parochial school at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Claremont, and was confirmed on March 28, 1915.
On Oct. 16, 1924, she married Ernest Grunklee at St. John's. They lived and farmed in Steele County for 39 years. Ernest died April 6, 1963. Edna remained on the farm until 1970, when the smaller house on the farm was moved to Blooming Prairie. Edna enjoyed being in town, meeting new friends and having coffee parties.
She did volunteer work at Prairie Manor Nursing Home and helped with bingo for 15 years until her 90th birthday. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, taking care of her garden and flowers. She also enjoyed crocheting, making quilts and spending time with family.
She moved to Westside Board and Care in Owatonna in 1997 and to Prairie Manor Nursing Home in 2000.
Survivors include daughters, Kathryn Coughlin, Blooming Prairie; Viola Matson, Albert Lea; son, Merlen (Maryann) Grunklee, Claremont; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann Schmidt, Pine Island; Myrtle Borning, Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Roger Grunklee; sons-in-law, Curtis Matson and Leo Coughlin; three sisters and two brothers.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, May 23, 2003, at the funeral home and Saturday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Claremont with the Rev. Giles Zimmer officiating.
Interment: The church cemetery.

Glenn R. Haldorson, 85
Glenn Robert Haldorson, 85, of Tracy, Calif., died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at his home.
He was born April 1, 1918, in London, Minn.
His wife, Eunice, died in 1993. He later married Clarice, and they had been married for nine years.
Glenn was a truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Tracy, Tracy Moose Lodge #1251, VFW Tracy Post #1537, and Teamsters Union Local 70.
Survivors include his children Jackie (Joe) Orgon, Valley Springs, Calif.; Terry (Bill) Emslie, Tracy, Calif.; stepsons, Harry (Beatrice) Lawrence, San Leandro, Calif.; Bill (Denise) Lawrence, Manteca, Calif.; three grandchildren; sister, Irene Shatek, Minnesota.
Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Lakeside Chapel, San Joaquin River Club on Kasson Road in Tracy, Calif.
Interment: San Joaquin National Cemetery, Custine, Calif.
